FAQ
Answers to the most common questions about Cool Popup — accounts, campaigns, billing, and integrations.
Getting started
Cool Popup is a social proof and engagement platform that lets you display popups, notifications, and lead capture widgets on your website. You create campaigns tied to your domains, add notification widgets, and install a lightweight pixel script — no coding required.
No. Cool Popup provides a visual editor for all notification types. The only technical step is adding a single <script> tag to your website's HTML (or using the Shopify app for automatic installation).
Yes. Cool Popup includes a free plan with basic limits on campaigns, notifications, and impressions. It's a great way to test the platform before upgrading.
Cool Popup works with any website that allows you to add a <script> tag — including WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, custom-built sites, and single-page applications (React, Vue, Next.js). For Shopify stores, the pixel is installed automatically through the theme app extension.
Campaigns & notifications
A campaign is a container tied to a website domain. A notification is a popup widget inside that campaign. One campaign can hold many notifications, and they all appear on the same domain.
This depends on your plan. Each plan sets limits on the total number of campaigns, notifications per campaign, and monthly impressions. Check the Plans page in your dashboard for your current limits.
Yes. Each notification has targeting rules where you can specify which pages it should appear on (all pages, specific URLs, or URL patterns). You can also target by device, location, browser, and more.
No. The pixel script loads asynchronously with the defer attribute, which means it doesn't block page rendering. It's lightweight and only loads the notifications configured for the current page.
Billing & plans
Cool Popup supports Stripe (credit/debit cards), PayPal, and Coinbase (cryptocurrency). Shopify merchants are billed through Shopify's payment system directly.
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from Account → Plan. If you're on a recurring plan, the change takes effect immediately for upgrades or at the end of the current period for downgrades.
Go to Account → Plan and click Cancel subscription. Your plan features remain active until the current billing period expires, then your account reverts to the free plan.
Refund policies vary. Contact support for refund requests.
Integrations
The Cool Popup Shopify app is a lightweight connector. It links your store to a Cool Popup account, automatically injects the pixel via a theme app extension, and enables Shopify-managed billing. All campaign management happens in the full Cool Popup dashboard. See the Shopify setup guide for details.
Yes. Cool Popup provides a REST API for managing campaigns, notifications, domains, and teams programmatically. API access is available on select plans. See API Access for details.
Yes. Use notification handlers to forward data to email, Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, Telegram, WhatsApp, webhooks (for custom integrations), and more.
Account
Go to Account → Delete account, enter your password, and request deletion. You'll receive an email with a confirmation link. Before confirming, you can download a copy of all your data. See the full guide.
Direct account transfers aren't supported. Instead, use the team system to share access with another user, then they can manage the account resources.
