Install the Cool Popup Shopify app and connect your store to start displaying social proof popups.

Overview

The Cool Popup Shopify app is a lightweight connector that links your Shopify store to the Cool Popup dashboard. Once installed, it:

Automatically injects the Cool Popup pixel on your storefront via a theme app extension
Links your Shopify store to a Cool Popup account
Enables Shopify-managed billing so you can pay through your Shopify invoice

All campaign and notification management happens in the full Cool Popup dashboard — the Shopify app simply connects your store and handles the pixel installation.

Installation

Install from the Shopify App Store

Find Cool Popup in the Shopify App Store and click Install. You'll be redirected to your Shopify admin to approve the permissions.

Link your account

After installation, the app opens inside your Shopify admin. If you already have a Cool Popup account, the app automatically links your store. If you're new, an account is created for you.

Your Shopify store's domain, email, and name are used to set up the connection.

Enable the theme embed

The app uses a Shopify theme app extension to inject the pixel script. Go to your Shopify theme editor (Online Store → Themes → Customize) and make sure the Cool Popup Pixel Loader app embed is toggled on.

The app's home screen shows whether the embed is currently active.

Open the Cool Popup dashboard

Click the Open Dashboard button in the Shopify app to access the full Cool Popup dashboard where you can create campaigns, add notifications, and configure everything.

How the connection works

The Shopify app maintains a lightweight link between your Shopify store and your Cool Popup account:

Authentication — When you open the dashboard from Shopify, you're automatically logged in via a secure token exchange. No separate password is needed.
Campaign sync — You can view and select which campaigns are active for your Shopify store directly from the app's home screen.
Webhook sync — The app listens for Shopify events (app uninstalled, subscription updates) and keeps Cool Popup in sync.

Managing campaigns from Shopify

The Shopify app home screen shows:

Your linked store information
A list of available campaigns (contexts) from your Cool Popup account
The current status of the theme embed (active/inactive)
A link to open the full dashboard for detailed management

The Shopify app is intentionally lightweight. For full control over campaigns, notifications, targeting, and analytics, use the Cool Popup dashboard at dash.coolpopup.com.

Uninstalling

Uninstalling the Cool Popup app from Shopify will:

Remove the pixel from your storefront
Cancel any active Shopify-managed subscription
Notify Cool Popup to clean up the store connection

Your Cool Popup account and data remain intact — you can reinstall the app to reconnect at any time.
